WRITER'S MARKETS

Listed below are WRITER'S MARKETS, these are market listings I found. I will be up dating these markets. I hope this will help freelance writers in their quest. The markets I've listed are for magazines that have been around for a long time and have built a good relationship with writers.

MAGAZINE GUIDELINES
1. Reader's Digest >> http://www.rd.com/
2. Family Circle >> http://www.parents.com/
3. Good Housekeeping >> http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/
4. The Adventist Review >> http://www.adventistreview.org/
5. Catholic Digest >> http://www.catholicdigest.com/
6. Utmost Christian Poets Gallery >> www.snowfaux.com/guidelines.htm
7. Cup of Comfort >> Colleen Sell, Editor >> http://www.cupofcomfort.com/
8. Ladies Home Journal, USA >> http://www.lhj.com/
9. Shine Brightly (girls 9 to 14) >> http://www.gemsgc.org/
10. New England Review >> www.nereview.com/guidelines.html

The above listings of magazines are looking for an assortment of articles, fillers, fiction or non-fiction writing. Simply click the URL and that will take you to writers guidelines, there you will find information needed to send in your submission. Some magazines are on line and you can read them without subscribing, others want you to buy a sample copy.

The guidelines will tell you what is of interest to each magazine, the amount of words for each catagory, but before submitting your work be sure to read the guidelines carefully. Always address your work to the correct editor and DO NOT misspell their name. Make sure to keep your work at the length required, if they ask for 2000 words or less, that's what you give them, or your work will find a home in the round file. If you send a query first, be sure to keep it to ONE PAGE, editors tend to discard lengthy missives. I hope this will help you find a home for your writing.

There are other fields where writers can make money, such as greeting cards, business ads, product copy and e-books for the information highway. While this type of writing is strickly business, it will bring in the money and give you the time to work on real passion for your art. You can also enter contests and winning a contest looks good on your resume. I will be adding more information from time to time that I hope will help get your work in print.

About Me

I enjoy my family, I have 3 sons, 10 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson. I am a published freelance writer, with articles and short stories on the internet, the local newspaper, Christian Ministry books, and many well known magazines, and I was the editor of a Christian Newspaper for over 5 years. Now I am working on a book. I am a Christian and I enjoy meeting new people in person and on the internet. I am putting together a list for freelance writer's markets and info for writers. I hope to help other writers get their work published. It takes a lot of time to find markets for your work. While I am looking for myself anyway, I make a list to share with other writer. Blessings to all!
